The American buffalo is a huge wild animal that belongs to the family of cows. Buffaloes are known for being very heavy and large – they can be as long as 3.5 m 6.9 to 11.5 ft) or as tall as 186 cm (73 in). When it comes to weight, it can range from 318 to 1,000 kg (701 to 2,205 lb). A buffalo’s coat is brown, shaggy and long. The American buffaloes are built in a rangy way, with huge heads, a rounded hump on the shoulders and small curved horns. Their snouts are wide while the eyes are small and legs are pretty short. Their heads are covered with a lot of fur which makes them bushy and it is interesting that the first half of their bodies has more fur than the rest.
